The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved a number of advancements for emergency use in the fight against COVID-19, such as rapid tests, a specialized ventilator, and now a device capable of detecting symptoms.

This device has been called Tiger Tech COVID Plus Monitor and in recent days it has had FDA approval. It has been designed to detect COVID-19 symptoms in asymptomatic people through artificial intelligence.

How does it work?

It is a bracelet that, through light sensors and a computer processor, obtains information to be analyzed based on biomarkers, which identify symptoms of SARS-CoV-2 such as hypercoagulation or some other abnormality.

This device is placed on the person's arm and the sensors collect pulse signals also related to blood flow, for a period of 3 to 5 minutes. Subsequently, this information is processed and displayed through a colored light guide, which will indicate a negative or positive result.

So far it has been used in hospitals and schools, its results were positive, yielding correct biomarkers in 98.6% and in 94% precision in cases that did not have signs of the virus.

It should be noted that this device is not designed to diagnose the virus, but only symptoms in asymptomatic people, so those people who present signs related to the virus will not be favored with this device.
