Sports injuries are caused in the musculoskeletal system during physical activity while playing sports, can be anything from a torn ligament to a break or crack bone. The most common among children and adolescents are ankle sprains, knee and wrist fracture

types of sports injuries Sports injuries are injuries that occur during a sporting activity, mainly involving the musculoskeletal system, where you can injure muscles, tendons, ligaments or bones.

These injuries can range from a simple ligament tear to a rupture of a ligament tear hueso.Un occurs when a forced movement causing excessive elongation of the fibras.Cuando a tendon (eg Achilles tendon) breaks as this is responsible for a specific movement, you lose that movement. In a bone, when you are injured, you can from fisurar (incomplete fracture) or fracture.

When crack is broken, but not entirely. When the bone is bent without breaking it is called green branch fracture or fracture button. If a complete fracture can be unshifted, which breaks but instead bone, or a complete fracture displaced further broken bone instead moves part.

Acute injuries and chronic injuries

Acute injuries are occurring at the time of the accident and chronic are having more time than that specific injury takes to heal, for example, a sprained ankle GIII, it takes 6 weeks to heal and 8 weeks has not been cured and becomes a chronic injury. In children and adolescents the most common injuries vary by age but overall the sprained ankle, knee and wrist fracture.

RICE, base treatment of sports injuries

It is difficult to comment on the treatment of sports injuries because it is different if it's a sprain or a fracture but generally recommended:

R = rest

I = Ice

C = Compression

E = Elevation

This as general measures to treat an injury, and the doctor will have to decide the time of treatment, type of immobilization, etc.To prevent sports injuries stretching and strengthening joints specifically recommended because the joints are the anatomical region of the musculoskeletal system that more are injured.
