On the planet, there are already more than 4.6 million inhabitants who have been infected by the SARS-CoV-2 Virus, which was detected in China in December 2019. To date, this disease has claimed the lives of more than 309,000 people, however, over a million and a half have recovered.

Today Latin America reached a figure of more than 500 thousand cases of Coronavirus, which have already claimed the lives of more than 28 thousand 400 people on the continent, according to official figures that have been reported by all countries. The country most affected by the pandemic is Brazil, which already accumulates more than half of those infected in the region.

In the last days, the authorities in Brazil registered almost 15 thousand new cases and 816 deaths, reason why the country accumulated 233 thousand 142 infected and more than 15 thousand deaths. Peru is the second with more infections, it has 88 thousand 451 cases and more than 2 thousand deaths.

Mexico is the second nation most affected in the matter of deaths, with a total of 5,045 deaths and more than 47,000 cases have already been registered. Meanwhile, in Chile, last Saturday a mega-quarantine was declared in its capital, after the number of people affected and deaths will increase sharply, since the country has more than 41,428 infections and 421 deaths. In Ecuador there are 32 thousand cases and more than 2,688 deaths.

Other countries with a large number of infected people are Colombia, which has 4,939 infected people, the Dominican Republic with 11,739, Panama with 9,449 and Argentina with 7,792.

However, despite the fact that these numbers are based on official data, it is important not to trust, since most nations have stated that there may be other cases that are not confirmed, since there is a large number of populations that are asymptomatic or that only has mild symptoms. People who feel some of the symptoms of COVID-19 can use Telemedicine to avoid exposure.
