ERCP or endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography is a test that looks at the pancreas or bile ducts for treating stones, tumors or narrow areas of the same. The test can cause abdominal fraud and yellowing of the skin and eyes which in any case must be temporary.

ERCP can be used to:

  • Open access to the ducts of the intestine
  • Dilate narrowed areas of the bile ducts
  • Remove gallstones
  • Diagnose biliary cirrhosis
  • Biospias the pancreas, bile ducts or gallbladder
  • Drain
