Auditory or acoustic neuroma neuroma is a tumor that forms in the inner ear conductor. Despite being a benign tumor it is aggressive because when diagnosed in its early stages is not done, is growing in size and can reach compressing neural structures. Symptoms usually begin with a ringing or tinnitus on the side of the tumor which is accompanied by a gradual loss of hearing. In extreme cases the ear neurinoma can generate a hearing loss of the affected side. In most cases, it must be surgically removed.
