Bone reconstruction is the regeneration of lost bone. The dentist can use this technique after a tooth extraction, to fill bone defects caused by periodontitis or when to place a dental implant and not enough bone to firmly hold the titanium root. The methods most commonly used bone reconstruction are: grafts, which are usually bone from the patient or synthetic; GBR, which involves grafting on which is placed a membrane to separate the gum and facilitate healing; plasma rich in growth factors, which involves removing the patient's blood and injected back to you only platelets that help blood clot, so that they stimulate a faster bone regeneration; and elevation of the maxillary sinus, which is filled with an artificial graft cavities found on the palate behind the nose and below the eye sockets of the future for bone formation.
