Vertebroplasty is a minimally invasive procedure for treating acute spinal fractures. In vertebroplasty a cement mixture into the fractured bone is injected through a hollow needle. Typically, vertebroplasty is recommended when have failed other less invasive treatments (such as rest a back support or analgesics) or when medications have begun to cause unwanted side effects such as ulcers or stomach problems.
